Welcome! I’m excited that you're considering joining me on a wellness journey! During our first session together, we’ll delve into a personalized approach to your health, utilizing various techniques tailored to meet your body’s unique needs. Together, let’s pave the way to your lasting well-being!
Before Your First In-Home Session

Getting ready for your first in-home massage with me is easy! To ensure we're both set up for a successful and comfortable session, here's what to expect:

Initial Consultation is Required

​

Before scheduling your first appointment, please reach out to me to arrange a brief over-the-phone or video consultation. This is an important step for a few reasons:​

  • To get to know each other: It allows us to introduce ourselves and ensure we are a good fit for working together.

  • To discuss your needs and goals: We can talk about what type of session you're looking for, your health history, any specific concerns you have, and what your goals are.

  • To confirm your space is suitable: During our consultation, we can briefly discuss the space you have available in your home to ensure it meets the requirements for a comfortable and effective session.

 

Appointment Duration & Scheduling

When you book a massage for a specific duration (e.g., 60 minutes), please know that this refers to the hands-on time you will receive. To ensure you enjoy the full benefits of your chosen session length, please plan for a slightly longer appointment window. I will require approximately 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to set up my equipment and about 15 minutes after the session to pack up.

 

Therefore, when scheduling your appointment, please allow for an additional 30 minutes beyond the stated hands-on massage duration. For example, a 60-minute massage will require a 90-minute block of time in your schedule. The agreed-upon start time for your massage will be the beginning of your scheduled appointment block, and I will often begin setting up as we discuss your needs and goals for the session. Your only job after your massage is to relax and enjoy the benefits, no need to assist me!

Once we’ve completed our consultation and confirmed everything is in place, we’ll schedule your appointment. Afterward, I’ll send you a link to complete the online New Client Intake Form and any other necessary initial paperwork. This way, when I arrive for your session, we can dive right into the experience without unnecessary delays!  (To view the forms you'll need to sign, click here.)​

Space Requirements for Your In-Home Session

To provide you with the best possible massage experience in your home, please ensure you have a space that meets these simple requirements:​

  • Sufficient Size: The area should be at least the size of a twin-sized bed, with approximately a foot of clear space surrounding it on all sides. This allows ample room for the massage table and for me to move around comfortably.

  • Temperature and Ventilation: To ensure my comfort and effectiveness during the massage (as I tend to get warm while working!), it is helpful if the room is in the lower 70s temperature range, or if there is a fan available in the space. While I prefer a cooler temperature, I understand that it may be a bit tricky to accommodate my request. I do, however, bring a table warmer and blankets to ensure your warmth and comfort throughout the session, when doing regular table massage. Accommodations can be made to fit other session types.

What I Bring To You​

​

You don't need to worry about providing any equipment! I come fully prepared to create a professional and relaxing massage experience in your home. I will bring:​

  • A comfortable, adjustable massage table

  • Fresh, clean massage sheets and linens

  • High-quality massage lotion (hypoallergenic available upon request)

  • A massage chair (if applicable for your session type)

  • Pregnancy bolsters (if needed)

  • Thai massage mats (if needed)

  • Relaxing music (though you are welcome to play your own music if you prefer!)

When I Arrive & During Your Session

Once I arrive at your home, we'll start by briefly reviewing your intake form together (if necessary) and discussing your goals and needs for the session. While we are talking, I will begin setting up my massage equipment, ensuring everything is ready for your comfort and relaxation. Understanding your needs enables me to customize the session to perfectly suit you!

After we've discussed your preferences and I've completed setting up, I will briefly step away to wash my hands and allow you some privacy to get situated. You are welcome to undress to your comfort level and get onto the table, under the provided sheet, when you are ready. I will then return to begin your session. While I typically begin with clients facing up, feel free to let me know if you'd prefer to start face down.

Your comfort is my top priority. With years of experience, I've worked with clients in various states of dress. Whether you choose to disrobe completely or stay dressed, it's entirely your decision. For Thai massage, you'll remain fully clothed throughout the session, but for other types, the choice is yours. I'll never ask you to remove anything you're uncomfortable with, and draping is non-negotiable. You'll be covered under the sheet; with only the area we're working on exposed. Your privacy and safety are paramount.

Throughout the session, I’ll check in periodically to ensure your comfort and pressure is just right. We’re a team when it comes to pressure – from feather-light to deep, we’ll find what works best for you. Every person's body is different and your sensitivity to pressure can change, so we will always work within your individual body's comfort zone. Communication is key; please don’t hesitate to let me know what feels good and what doesn’t, and we’ll adjust accordingly.

And finally, for a frequently asked question: To chat or not to chat? It’s entirely up to you! Some find conversation relaxing, while others prefer silence for their Zen experience. Whatever you prefer, we’ll make it happen. Feel free to share your thoughts, experiences, or anything else you’d like during our session. We can talk about almost anything but we will always respect both of our boundaries. â€‹â€‹

After Your Session

After your session is complete, I will step away briefly to allow you privacy to get dressed and prepare to get off the table. I will offer you a refreshing bottle of water as you get up from the table, and we can finalize payment at that time. If you’d like to schedule your next session, we can take care of that as well. Booking your next appointment on the spot comes with a discount applied to that appointment!

For any questions or concerns that may arise after your session, please don't hesitate to reach out to me! You are welcome to contact me with any follow-up questions. For more in-depth guidance on self-care practices tailored to your needs, you have a couple of convenient options:

  • Telecare Sessions: You can schedule a virtual "telecare" session with me. This allows us to connect remotely (via phone or video call) to discuss your progress, address any lingering questions, and refine your self-care routine.

  • "Self-Care Instruction" Add-On: You can enhance your next massage appointment (or even add it to your initial booking if you are already thinking about it!) with a "Self-Care Instruction" add-on. This dedicated time, incorporated into your session, allows for personalized guidance and instruction on stretches, exercises, or other self-care techniques to help you maintain the benefits of your massage and support your well-being between sessions.
